Caleb White, my grandson, was in practice with his teammates not long ago. He collapsed onto the court, efforts to revive him were fervently attempted. When those efforts proved futile, he was swiftly transported to the hospital. Despite the doctors' unrelenting efforts. Caleb's young life could not be reclaimed. At the tender age of 17, he is no more!!! Caleb embodied excellence in his academics, radiated respect, was intellectually brilliant, and shone as a phenomenal basketball talent – the 25th best point guard in his class nationwide and the number 2 in Alabama. Rest in peace, dear Caleb! Your memory lives on within us," Varnadoe penned in a heartfelt post. Continuing his poignant remembrance, Varnadoe shared, "A mere 24 hours ago, the basketball court witnessed the devastating collapse of my beloved grandson, Caleb White.
The echoes of cardiac arrest resounded, and despite exhaustive attempts at resuscitation, fate remained unyielding." His post continued with a poignant reminder. I humbly implore you to keep my family in your prayers. During this somber time, the community unites in shared grief, seeking solace in memories and drawing strength from one another.
